SS-31 (Elamipretide), the mitochondrial repairman. It finds your most damaged power plants and fixes their wiring, so energy stops leaking out as cellular damage. This is the "fix the furnace" peptide.
Your starting dose
30 to 60units
5 to 10 mg
3× a week, up to once daily
Your insulin syringe is marked 0 to 100. That whole line is 1 mL. Draw to the 30 to 60 mark.

The protocolHow to mix it, how much to draw, and how long a vial lasts.
The numbers
Vial50 mg
Mix with3 mL BAC water → makes 1 mg = 6 units
Dose30 to 60 units (5 to 10 mg) per shot
Micro-dose12 units (2 mg) daily, the burnout / fatigue stack dose
Frequency3× a week, up to once daily
WhenFasted (empty stomach), under the skin, belly or thigh
Cycle8 weeks on / 3 weeks off, always run it AFTER a MOTS-c cycle
Units made simple: your insulin syringe is marked 0 to 100. That whole line = 1 mL. For a 5 mg shot, draw to the 30 mark. For the 2 mg burnout micro-dose, draw to 12. A full 10 mg shot = the 60 mark. No math.
How long one bottle lasts
At 5 mg 30u~10 doses (a full 8-week cycle at 3×/week runs ~2 to 3 bottles)
At 2 mg 12u~25 doses, the daily micro-dose stretches it to ~3 to 4 weeks
At 10 mg 60u~5 doses (0.6 mL each, top of the range)
One 50 mg vial = 300 units total. Where you land depends on the goal, a light daily burnout dose lasts far longer than a full 10 mg repair shot.

What it does for you
Stops energy leaking as inflammationThe flagship idea: when your power plants are damaged, energy leaks out as oxidative stress and inflammation. SS-31 seals the membrane so that energy stays as usable ATP instead of turning into cellular "smoke."
Cleaner, more efficient ATPIt doesn't build new mitochondria, it makes the ones you have work better. More energy per unit of oxygen, far less waste.
It self-targets the damageSS-31 is drawn only to your most damaged mitochondria and ignores the healthy ones, a "homing missile" that concentrates exactly where the repair is needed.
Real human energetics dataIn a human trial, a single dose raised muscle ATP output in older adults (27% vs 12% on placebo). We keep it honest: it's a mitochondrial-energy peptide, mechanism and energetics, not a cure for any disease.
How it works
SS-31 is a tiny 4-amino-acid peptide with a positive charge. Damaged mitochondria carry a more negative charge on their inner membrane, so SS-31 is pulled straight to the most broken ones and ignores the healthy ones. It binds and shields cardiolipin, the fat molecule that anchors the energy-producing chain (Complexes I, III and IV) to the membrane. When cardiolipin oxidizes with age and stress, the membrane leaks and the whole power plant starts to fail; SS-31 protects it, keeps the membrane folds (cristae) intact, and keeps the "self-destruct" pathway shut in cells that are stressed but still salvageable. The result: the power plant stops leaking energy as damage and starts running efficiently again, old, worn-out biology runs cleaner. Think of MOTS-c as the builder and SS-31 as the mechanic, which is exactly why you build first, then repair.
What to know before you run it
It's a "homing missile." SS-31 doesn't touch your healthy mitochondria, its positive charge is pulled to the negative charge of damaged ones, so it runs "straight into the fire" and works only where it's needed.
Proven in humans, one dose. A single dose raised muscle ATP production in older adults in a real randomized trial. That's a human energetics win, not a rodent study, and it's the honest one to lean on.
It repairs, it doesn't build. This is the key difference from MOTS-c. MOTS-c builds new power plants; SS-31 fixes the wiring on the ones you have. Run them in that order (build → repair) and each does its job.
You might not even need it yet. For most people MOTS-c and NAD+ does the heavy lifting. SS-31 is the "occasional deep-clean comet" you add only if you've built first and still feel off, and it's always cycled (8 on / 3 to 4 off), never forever.
Order is everything: MOTS-c FIRST, SS-31 SECOND. MOTS-c builds new power plants; SS-31 protects and repairs them. Reverse it and you're "fixing the steering wheel while driving off a cliff."
It's self-targeting, SS-31 only binds your MOST damaged mitochondria; healthy ones repel it. It "runs straight into the fire."
You may not even need it, run MOTS-c 4 to 8 weeks first and add SS-31 only if you still feel off. "MOTS-c is the sun; SS-31 the occasional comet."
Pairs cleanly with NAD+ and low-dose methylene blue for a full mitochondrial-energy reset, but don't turn it into a 10-peptide pile.

How to run itMixing, injecting, what to eat, and what to take alongside it.
Mixing and injecting
Mix: add the 3 mL of BAC water slowly down the side of the vial. Swirl gently, never shake.
Store: in the fridge after mixing.
Inject: into belly fat (~2 inches from your belly button) or the thigh, in a fasted state. Pinch, go straight in, push slow. Rotate the spot, fresh pin every time.
